Passengers riding London’s Tube will not be able to use their mobile devices after all. Plans to add 120 new wifi hotspots were scrapped, despite a successful wifi trial at one London station. BBC News now says plans have fallen through over funding issues but it remains a “long-term goal” for the city. This blog in the Wall Street Journal had previously noted the free wifi would not be available in the tunnels, but instead be accessible from platforms and perhaps even those lingering at the entrances of the stations.
