Intel Praises the Personal VPN for Ultimate Online PrivacyDid you know that photos you share online can reveal your GPS location to strangers? Or that you can literally “browse like a hero” by using a secret identity for online protection?

Those are just two of many Internet privacy tips and tricks featured in Intel’s #hackyourlife digital security infographic/video series. Their “digital life hack tips” run the gamut — the aim is to reinforce simple yet effective online security tips that literally anyone can use.

Our favorite, naturally, is their endorsement of a personal virtual private network. As Intel says, “Use a VPN when you are away from home. It keeps bad guys from snooping your data.”

As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Intel has also created several helpful videos highlighting easy-yet-savvy security tips. The following short clip (our favorite is Lifehack #5 — “I use protection on public WiFi and so should you!”) details the importance of “becoming invisible” online by using a personal VPN. A VPN takes your Internet traffic and makes you invisible in a public wireless environment.
