Immortalized in the poem of Emma Lazarus, a poem on the Statue of Liberty pedestal says, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” A new kind of free has arrived nearby: free wifi. New Yorkers can now access wifi free of charge at Battery Bosque and the ferry landing in Battery Park, which is near Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and other harbor activities. According to Marketwatch, the launch is part of a five-year digital initiative to provide free wifi at 26 locations in twenty New York City parks across the five boroughs.
